The neglected Eastern wall

The Western wall of Indira Nagar MRTS station has become quite an attraction with the colourful murals. The whole idea was to encourage non-discrimination and inclusivity with real images of HIV affected.

The Eastern wall on the other hand looks dull and neglected. Why this discrimination? The Western side attracts thousands of eyeballs especially from the IT corridor. So it is understandable that limited resources are used to achieve maximum impact.

Thank God, this is only an East-West issue. If it had been a South – North problem, some Tamil Nadu politicians would have raised Cain against Southern Railway and the Government!

The Indira Nagar MRTS station situated on the IT Expressway (OMR) now wears a new look. Street artist A-Kill and the St+Art Foundation (who were involved in the Kannagi Nagar Project also) have collaborated with the Tamil Nadu Aids Control Society to paint the walls with themes aimed at destigmatizing aids patients.
