Missing the Target Audience
A commuter looking out from a suburban train in Chennai.
Note the Corona related message in Hindi. Strange are the ways of the Government departments. 90% of the people in Chennai can not read and understand Hindi. Total waste of resources in trying to communicate an important message.

Hydrating Pets
It is sunrise and already it is time for this group of family and friends to hydrate their pet on Elliot’s beach. North India is experiencing a heatwave. Chennai is not far behind, though we had a respite for 2 or 3 days.
Mango Season
Mangoes have arrived in the market.
This man in Besant Nagar is selling luscious ‘banganapalli’ mangoes at Rs 120 per kilo. A kilo may have 2 to 3 mangoes depending on the size.
Flamingos
Recently, a well known English daily published a picture of painted storks and wrongly labelled them as flamingoes.
My knowledge of birds is not very good either but at least I know that these flamingoes are not real. 😊

Monarch of the Milk Crates
The colourful milk crates and the (im)posing man made an inviting photo op on Coral Merchant Street Mannady during the Chennai Photowalk.
My interest, however, was more on the heavy carved door and doorframe behind.
The man said that he has been living there for the last 10 years but the house must be at least 70 years old. I would reckon that the house must be much older.
Unfortunately, I could not get a good picture of the door due to various constraints.

A juvenile Shikra ( also called Banded Goshawk- a kind of raptor) (Tamil: வல்லூறு) has been hovering around in our park in the last few days. From the looks it appears to be injured and may need attention.
