Shorthand and Broadband

Shorthand and Broadband
Shorthand and Broadband

I thought Shorthand as invented by Pitman, was dead and the typewriters too were on the way out. So, it was amusing to see this 107-year-old Shorthand School / Typewriting Institute offering its services in Kutchery Road, Mylapore. I am sure Pitman and Scholes? Remington must be happy wherever they are. BTW, why the School for Shorthand and Institute for Typewriting?

The poster for broadband adjacent to this board reminds that we are new a new generation.

Is this a metaphor for Chennai?
